Walt Disney Records releases the soundtrack to the Disney Channel Original Movie "Stuck in the Suburbs" on July 13. The soundtrack features all-new songs performed by the movie's main character, Jordan Cahill, as well as original music sung by today's coolest teen artists. The "Stuck in the Suburbs" movie premieres July 16 on Disney Channel.
The collection includes music from Radio Disney favorites such as Hollywood/Buena Vista recording artist Jesse McCartney, whose solo album will be out on Sept. 28, 2004, and who stars in Aaron Spelling Television's hit WB show "Summerland." Haylie Duff, who wrote two songs on sister Hilary Duff's debut album, currently is working on her own solo debut, with a late-summer release expected on Hollywood Records. This summer, Haylie also is a special guest on Hilary's Most Wanted Tour. Anneliese van der Pol, co-star of the hit Disney Channel Original Series "That's So Raven," makes her first solo contribution to a Disney Channel soundtrack with her song "Over It."
In "Stuck in the Suburbs," the small town pace of life quickens for 14-year-old Brittany Aarons when she learns that pop idol Jordan Cahill's music video will be filmed in her neighborhood. After Brittany and her friend Natasha, the worldly new girl at school, scheme their way on to the video set, a series of mishaps occur and Brittany winds up with Jordan's state-of-the-art PDA. Things get complicated when Brittany and Natasha discover that their pop idol's "boy band" image isn't consistent with his true artistic talent. With the help of modern technology, they manipulate his daily schedule to expose his real artistry and personality. "Stuck in the Suburbs" premieres July 16 and will air repeatedly throughout the summer on Disney Channel.
