Sting-Free Issued a Patent; Commences Marketing Baseball Bat Grips to Major League and College Teams

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 17, 2004--Sting-Free Company announces the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued Patent: 6,652,398 titled "Vibration dampening grip cover for the handle of an implement." The Company has commenced marketing their baseball bat grips to major league and college baseball teams.

Baseball players used the Sting-Free bat grip in field tests to absorb the impact sting when the bat hits the ball. Typical foam and rubber stops only 10% to 20% of the impact.

Sting-Free stopped up to 80% of the impact.

Some hitters have been known to flinch as they anticipate the pain or "sting" when the ball hits the bat; a fraction of a second hesitation meant certain failure. Most of that harmful vibration and shock can now be eliminated. The Sting-Free high-tech grips can replace the synthetic rubber, tire rubber with cushioned backing and foam padding that was the only choice a baseball player could use to absorb the vibration.

Baseball players can customize the Sting-Free grip to their own individual preferences. Some players may want less vibration absorption so they can feel more of the ball contact while others may prefer more vibration absorption.

An anti-vibration technology developed by two sports medicine doctors, Carmen DiMario and Thomas Falone, Sting-Free provides greater damping of vibrations and offers a distinct advantage over existing rubber and foam based padding alternatives. Sports medicine experts endorse the Sting-Free grip.

About Sting-Free Company

Sting-Free, an anti-vibration technology company; develops, manufactures, licenses, and markets proprietary grips and shoe inserts for consumers in the sports equipment, footwear and tool industry. The Company, critical of the cheap tire-rubber and foam grips traditionally used on baseball bats, tennis racquets, golf clubs, and tool handles, claims these grips are ineffective in protecting against harmful impact shock. Numerous field trials proved Sting-Free eliminated 80% of the harmful vibration and shock that comes with contact. A major league baseball team is using it for bat grips and mitt inserts, professional soccer players use the Sting-Free innersoles, tennis pros use Sting-Free on their racquet grips, and golf pros use Sting-Free on their golf club grips.

The Company has an aggressive business model in place to bring Sting-Free to market including an Infomercial building brand recognition and negotiations to form strategic alliances with market leaders in the sporting goods industry.
