Marine Electronics Leader Releases Enhanced Version of Award Winning Software
NASHUA, N.H., May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Raymarine Inc. has launched RayTech 5.0 the latest version of the most versatile and advanced PC charting package on the market today. RayTechRNS 5.0 is the foundation for building a complete onboard marine navigation system.
It is easier to enter waypoints and build routes with this latest release. RayTechRNS' new 3D Rolling Road display allows for more intuitive navigation. Among the benefits of this high performance, lightning fast redraw chartplotting package is the capability of merging chart layers with live radar data, and overlaying weather and satellite image data. RayTechRNS 5.0 supports a broad selection of maps and cartography including C-Map NT/NT+ cartography, Maptech's raster/photo/CD/topo maps, the Softchart raster/photo/topo maps, NDI Canadian charts and BSB-compatible charts.
To enhance the function of the RayTechRNS software, Raymarine offers two hardware accessories -- a USB Keyboard and the M1500 Marine Monitor. The Navigator Keyboard features dedicated keys that support the RayTechRNS functions. It has a built-in cursor, Twist n'Click rotary knob and alphanumeric keypad. The keyboard can be flush-mounted with a customized bezel. For ease of use, the keyboard can be removed from the dash mount cradle for in-hand use.
The M1500 Marine monitor is a waterproof, sunlight viewable 15-inch display with XGA native resolution and both DVI and VGA inputs. The removable bezel can be painted to specifications or the monitor can be flush-mounted directly in a custom dashboard with no bezel at all. The M1500 monitor has both video and audio inputs.

RayTechRNS 5.0 includes a number of specialized options for specific boating applications. The RayTech Fishing Pro is designed for offshore and deep sea fishing. Anglers can use the software to overlay plankton, and sea surface temperature satellite maps that can be purchased online and downloaded to the PC. The RayTechRNS Pathfinder PC kit transforms a PC into a fully functioning Pathfinder radar or HDFI fishfinder using Raymarine's hsb2 and SeaTalk networks. The kit comes with all the software and hardware needed to integrate the PC with all onboard electronics.
Another standard feature is RayTech Sail Racer. Sailors can choose the RayTech Sail Racer, which provides the tools that are critical for decision- making on tactical navigation and vessel performance. Sail Racer is used and recommended by navigators from the America's Cup, Whitbread/Volvo, Transpac and Around Alone crews.
