New TruePic TURBO Image Processor for Improved Image Quality and Speed:
Enhances high-resolution detail and suppresses noise for sharper, clearer image quality.
Reduces recording and playback time, enabling image processing faster than on previous models, reducing the likelihood of missed shots in active shooting situations.
High-Speed, High-Precision Dual AfFSystem:
The advanced dual autofocusing system uses a passive sensor and TTL contrast detection, and reduces the time required for focusing by up to approximately 50% in comparison to the previous model (CAMEDIA X-2).
In addition to single-shot AF mode, a fulltime AF mode that uses a newly developed algorithm is also offered. With fulltime AF mode, focus is continuously maintained when tracking moving subjects, ensuring fewer missed shots for carefree shooting in a wider range of situations.

1.8-Inch 'Sunshine' LCD Monitor: A 'Sunshine' LCD monitor provides significantly improved viewing ease in bright sunlight. The 1.8-inch monitor has 134,000 pixels and provides a large, high-definition display that is handy for both shooting and image playback.
Super Macro Mode Close-Ups from 4cm: Perfect for high-end users who want to explore the limits of digital photography, Super Macro mode fills the frame with a subject area that measures just for approximately 47.1mm x 34.8mm.
Histogram Display: Histograms can be displayed on the LCD monitor during or after shooting to allow quick confirmation of the spread in exposure values for each subject. As a result, users can control exposure to get the precise results they want.
 Click-Stop Mode Dial: The Mode Dial is located on the top of the camera, allowing users to easily operate it with their right thumb when the camera is held in the shooting position.
Movie Recording with Sound: In addition to still photos, the CAMEDIA X-3 allows users to shoot movies with sound. Movies can be as long as available memory media allows, and are recorded at a frame rate of 15fps in QuickTime Motion JPEG format with audio in WAVE format.
