Sarah McLachlan Gets Personal with Latest Artist's Choice CD; Starbucks Celebrates CD Launch by Giving Wi-Fi Users Exclusive Interview Footage via the T-Mobile Hotspot Service
SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 2004--Sarah McLachlan reveals her favorite songs with the release of her exclusive Artist's Choice(TM) CD available now in North American Starbucks (Nasdaq:SBUX) locations. Sarah McLachlan Artist's Choice(TM) joins Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Sheryl Crow in Hear Music's signature compilation CD series which encourages customers to discover music from both emerging and classic artists. With this album, Hear Music gives customers an intimate look into the memories and inspirations of one of today's most successful female artists.

Starbucks customers that access the T-Mobile HotSpot service can experience exclusive multimedia Wi-Fi content from the Sarah McLachlan Artist's Choice(TM) CD. Wi-Fi users at Starbucks can interact with the music McLachlan picked for the CD, and for the first time ever watch her exclusive Artist's Choice(TM) interview with Hear Music. Starbucks customers with a Wi-Fi equipped laptop computer or Tablet PC can watch the exclusive video content, access digital liner notes and listen to sample songs from the CD at any one of the more than 2,900 Starbucks locations that offer the T-Mobile HotSpot service.
Customers who purchase the CD can read excerpts of McLachlan's interview describing her personal reflections on the songs that have inspired her throughout her career. These liner notes share her intimate thoughts and memories of listening to Cat Stevens' If I Laugh -- the first album she owned, why Michael Stipe of R.E.M. can write some of the best, yet simple song lyrics and how McLachlan is emotionally drawn to Peter Gabriel's melodies in the song "Solsbury Hill."
