Product Information / Press Release Econazole Nitrate is an antifungal used to treat athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. Econazole Nitrate may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor. Econazole prevents fungal organisms from producing vital substances required for growth and function. This drug is effective only for infections caused by fungal organisms. Econazole will not work for bacterial or viral infections. Apply to affected area 1 to 2 times a day. When twice a day, apply it in the morning and the evening. Athlete's foot is usually treated for 1 month; jock itch, ringworm, and sun fungus, for 2 weeks. Apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is near the time for the next application, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosage schedule.
