Product Information / Press Release Digoxin, oral anticoagulants. Decreased carbamazepine & theophylline metabolism. Increased triazolam, omeprazole and ergot alkaloid levels. May increase sildenafil (Viagra) levels. Concomitant use of rifabutin and clarithromycin may cause decreased clarithromycin levels and increased rifabutin levels.
Treatment of MAI or DMAC; strep pharyngitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonias. Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, pseudomembranous colitis, hearing loss, usually reversible, mainly in elderly patients.Category C. Risk to fetus cannot be ruled out. Use if benefit outweighs potential risk.
