Tim McGraw to Release Next Album August 24th
LIVE LIKE YOU WERE DYING
NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Grammy award-winning superstar Tim McGraw will release LIVE LIKE YOU WERE DYING, his ninth album, on August 24. The album is one of the most anticipated releases due this year and will feature his touring band, the Dancehall Doctors, for their second consecutive project. The album's title track, written by Craig Wiseman and Tim Nichols, has become the fastest rising chart single of McGraw's career, breaking into the top 5 in just 4 weeks. Sherman Halsey directed the hot new video for "Live Like You Were Dying." It is Halsey's nineteenth video with McGraw.
LIVE LIKE YOU WERE DYING was recorded in upstate New York at Allaire Studios with longtime producer Byron Gallimore and second-time producer and Dancehall Doctor Darran Smith.
"When we went to Allaire to make the last album (TIM MCGRAW & THE DANCEHALL DOCTORS), it was a totally new thing for us as a band," says McGraw. "We had history together as a touring band and that gave us an incredible creative foundation to work with, but it was a totally new experience for all of us. We weren't exactly sure what to expect from ourselves or how fans would react to the music. This time we were able to go up there with confidence and experience under our belt. We were able to share a similar reference point -- even in how we talked about the music. And I think, well I hope anyway, that you can hear that experience in the way we cut the record. When I go to make an album, I always have something personally that I want to do different or improve upon. This time, all 9 of us had those kinds of goals. It takes a certain amount of assurance to reach for more, but the fans gave us that assurance and we went for it."
Fans at this summer's OUT LOUD tour are enjoying a taste of the new record, including songs "How Bad Do You Want It," "My Good Friend," "Drugs Or Jesus" and "Blank Sheet of Paper," co-written by opening act the Warren Brothers.
